Then another message came to me from the LORD: “Zerubbabel is the one who laid the foundation of this Temple, and he will complete it. Then you will know that the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has sent me. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
Zechariah 4:8-10a

“In the last days, the mountain of the LORD’s house will be the highest of all—the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship. People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the LORD’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2:2-3)
OUR BRIEF HISTORY
“Gather My People to Worship!” – this is a mandate given to an ordinary pastor of a humble community church in Zambales, Philippines.
At the beginning of the year 2020, Pastor Rodel Sabino of Shechem Christian Community Church in Candelaria, Zambales received this directive from God through angelic visitations. He kept this to himself for a while. But in the month of May in the same year, another angelic visitation prompted Pastor Rodel to obey, so he began to share the vision to some pastors in that region. But the Lord further instructed him that this is not just for the pastors of his region but for the greater part of the world.
In the midst of a pandemic where a world-wide lock down was imposed, it was a challenge to gather people to worship. The new normal way of meeting people was through virtual meeting – a very impersonal way of meeting people but the potential of reaching out to many was great. With a computer monitor and a webcam, the first LIVE WORSHIP was aired by Pastor Rodel – a ministry was born and it was called Shechem
Cares after the community church of Pastor Rodel in Zambales. This virtual Live Worship went on every Wednesday evening and in a few weeks’ time, Shechem Cares Ministry has become a nationwide movement. The ever-growing number of participants prompted Pastor Rodel to organize the body, assigning coordinators in every regional, provincial, municipal and barangay level. By the end of the 2nd month, there were about 18,000 pastors who registered to be part of Shechem Cares Ministry, then called SCPH – short for Shechem Cares Philippines. It has become a big family of pastors from different denominational backgrounds. In May 2021, Shechem Cares Ministry was officially called SHECHEM CARES INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, INC. as approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines.
Along with the growth in number, new ministries, programs and projects were formed reaching out not only to the Filipinos but to all the peoples of the world.
“The LORD will be awesome to them, for He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth; people shall worship Him, each one from his place, indeed all the shores of the nations.” (Zephaniah 2:11)
